Optical Probe for Liquid Boiling Point Detection
The fiber optic probe for monitoring the boiling point of the cooling liquid is used in the cooling jacket of a nuclear reactor. The principle of the probe is to monitor the state of the cooling water in the reactor jacket before the liquid begins to boil, when bubbles of steam start to form on the jacket, causing a change in the continuous transmission state of the control signal in the probe.
The optical probe is equipped with a cone at the detection end of the optical fiber for reflecting the monitoring signal. As soon as air is trapped or the cone sensor begins to boil, a change in the monitoring signal occurs, activating the necessary monitoring and safety measures. The optical probe is connected to the evaluation and monitoring electronics via an optical cable, ensuring a safe distance, making the signal immune to any disturbing elements.
